Carol
H. Solomon, CSW, CMC
Carol H. Solomon is
a Private Certified Geriatric Care Manager in Mount Laurel, NJ. Ms. Solomon
started CHS Geriatric Care, Inc. to provide compassionate
and comprehensive services for the elderly and their families. Her
mission is to offer the elderly the best quality of life with the most
dignity possible.
Upon graduation from
Long Island University with a degree in Sociology, Ms. Solomon worked as
a Social Investigator for the New York City Department of Welfare. In
1981, she began teaching young children and soon after developed the
"Adopt a Grandparent Program." This program was designed to
promote the interaction between seniors and children, thus fulfilling
important needs of both generations.
From 1986 to 1991,
Ms. Solomon worked as a Social Services Coordinator for Twin Towers, a
subsidized, low-income housing complex in Mercer County, NJ. While
there, she initiated and supervised various programs for the senior
residents.
Carol's desire to
help families with the challenges of care giving arose from her own
personal care giving experiences. Twenty four years ago, Carol's search
for proper care for her mother raised her awareness on the issues
surrounding eldercare. Ms. Solomon now provides families with the kind
of help she wishes were available when she needed it.
CHS Geriatric
Care, Inc.
assists families with choices regarding home care, daycare, assisted
living and nursing homes. Initially, CHS staff conduct an
in-depth, at-home assessment with a client. Next, CHS
reviews various options at a family care meeting. Once a care plan has
been determined and necessary steps have been taken, CHS
staff continue to monitor and advocate for their clients.
CHS corporate
headquarters is located in Mount Laurel, NJ and serves the Delaware Valley. CHS
frequently receives calls from families outside of the tri-state area
who require assistance with the care of a loved one. CHS
is often called upon to accompany clients to medical appointments and
intervene when family members are not available to do so.
Ms. Solomon is the
founder of Networking Connections of South Jersey. She is currently the President of the New Jersey
Chapter of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers. Ms. Solomon
is a lecturer and has appeared on television on matters concerning the elderly. CHS does monthly current events
programs at various Assisted Living Facilities
